Punjab AIDS Control Program

Today an event went successful which was organised collaboratively by Punjab AIDS Control Program and Khawaja Sira Society on HIV/AIDS awareness for transgender community and director PACP Dr faisal Masood has open up enabling space for transgender community and ensured that they can get the services and get treatment without stigma and discrimination from health care settings. Participants were provided information on methods of HIV transmission, how to stay protected from HIV

Protest Against Sexual Violence

The staff of Khawaja Sira Society and community gathered at Lahore Press Club to protest against sexual violence targeting transgender people in Pakistan. The Khawaja Sira community expressed solidarity with trans-women who were gang raped and tortured in Faisalabad some days ago. Such violence forms the daily reality of Khawaja Sira communities who are constantly denied safe and accepting spaces. Such abuse is enabled by the broader social and economic violence against Khawaja Sira and trans people and the collective refusal to address that.

Drafted Trans-Protection Bill

It is with utmost pride that we announce that the Transgender Protection Policy Bill (2017) drafted and presented by members of Khawaja Sira Society (KSS) with the help of legal team from The Feminist Collective (TFC) has been accepted by the National Taskforce established for working on legislation for transgender people. Our team, led by transgender people also comprised of allies, legal and policy experts and researchers. By analyzing the significant gaps and shortcomings in the initial drafts.

Attended Youth Conference At Amsterdam University

Moon ali got invitation to speak in youth pre-Conference 2018 morning plenary session at university of Amsterdam and she has discussed about the current practice of HIV/AIDS prevention in Pakistan as a team, as a leader and as an organization. She was asked about the challenges and barriers that community usually faced. Moon has talked about the social norms, intercommunity conflicts and low literacy rate among community, lack of sensitization plan for society at large

Organized World AIDS day event

The aim of this event was to commemorate World Aids Day and to organize the community mobilization event to raise awareness, End isolation. End stigma. End HIV transmission and organized this event to join the fight to end the negative impact of HIV. we have invited some CSO’s to participate in this event. The main focus of this event includes: Inclusiveness among community and civil society. And the other purpose is to draw attention on HIV epidemic, to support PLHIVs and to show KSS contribution to reduce the impact of HIV among community. And KSS has arranged a beauty contest for Trans-Women’s in the same event and rewarded a crown to a Trans-Women as Miss KSS

Advocacy Meetings

KSS Director Moon Ali and finance manager meet with PTI General Secretary Miss Sadia Sohail Rana of women wing at her house and discussion over there about future plans and party objectives regarding transgender rights in Pakistan.
